NasDem To Bawaslu: Anies Baswedan Bukan Curi Start Campaign Tapi Cuma Perkenalan

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party straightened out accusations by the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) which stated that the presidential candidates (candidates) they carried out, Anies Baswedan, stole the start of the campaign through political safaris to several regions in Indonesia. The chairman of the NasDem DPP, Willy Aditya, said Anies was conducting political education to the community. Where, he said, Anies and the people in the regions could have a dialogue to find a solution to make Indonesia better. "What this is doing is political education by NasDem to the public. Where in every silaturahim Mas Anies and NasDem conduct dialogue with many people, groups and groups about what are aspirations and how to find a solution," said Willy, Friday, December 16. In addition, Willy continued, NasDem also needs to introduce Anies so that people are not wrong in choosing future leadership candidates. "Indonesia is very broad, if introductions are only carried out in a short period of time, of course we will again buy cats in sacks that do not have adequate information about who will lead us," said Willy. Willy also denied that Anies' political safaris were deemed violating because they stole the campaign start. Because, according to him, the determination of presidential candidates has not been carried out by the KPU.

"What's wrong with the start that has not been stolen, like, kick off yet, how come there is a violation?" he said.

Even so, Willy appreciated Bawaslu for not continuing the report against Anies. Because he said, so far Anies has not carried out a campaign just as an introduction to the public.

"But of course we appreciate what has been the result of Bawaslu. Because what Anies and NasDem have done so far is not a campaign, we just make introductions," he concluded. Previously, the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) called Anies Baswedan unethical for stealing campaign starts by carrying out activities in Aceh some time ago.

"In terms of political ethics, AB (Anies Baswedan)'s political safari activities can be seen as an unethical act. (Because) they have carried out covert campaign activities and seem to steal startings in campaigning as presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election," said Bawaslu Puadi member at the Indonesian Bawaslu Office, Jakarta, Thursday, December 15.

Bawaslu has also investigated the report against Anies. However, Bawaslu did not impose a sentence on Anies because he did not find any violations in the incident in Aceh on December 2.

Puadi explained that there were no violations because there had been no presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election. Although, he said, the public already knew that Anies was a potential presidential candidate that had been declared by several parties.
