JAKARTA - Minister of Villages for Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Abdul Halim Iskandar revealed that the Village Building Index (IDM) with the status of an independent village in 2022 has exceeded the 2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) target.

Based on IDM data in 2022, villages with independent status reached 6,238 villages, exceeding the 2024 RPJMN target, namely 5,000 villages with independent status.

"In fact, today, IDM's independent village status has reached 6,238 villages. Our RPJMN 2024 related to independent village IDM is 5,000 villages," said Mendes PDTT at the 2022 Village Kaleidoscope, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration in Jakarta, Thursday.

It turns out that from this achievement there is a share of the Village Fund allocated by the government for all villages throughout the archipelago. According to him, the achievement of IDM shows that the tested Village Fund can advance villages in Indonesia.

Based on data from the Ministry of Villages PDTT, IDM in the category of Very Disadvantaged Villages was recorded to have decreased by 8,471 villages, from 13,453 villages to 4,982 villages. For IDM, the category of Disadvantaged Villages decreased by 24,008 villages, from 33,592 villages to 9,584 villages. The category of Developing Villages increased by 11,020 villages, from 22,882 villages to 33,902 villages.

Meanwhile, the category of Advanced Villages increased by 16,641 villages, from 3,608 villages to 20,249 villages, and in the Mandiri Village category it increased by 6,064 villages, from 174 villages to 6,238 villages.

Mendes PDTT added that the status of the development of 122 villages had drastically increased from Highly Disadvantaged Village in 2015 to Mandiri Village in 2022.

"The most jumps were in villages in West Kalimantan, which was 67 villages," said Gus Halim, as he is usually called as quoted from Antara.

Currently, he continued, there are no villages left behind and villages are very lagging behind in the Provinces of Bali, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java, East Java, and the Bangka Belitung Islands. "In the future, it will be collaborated between the achievement of IDM and the achievements of the Village SDGs," said Abdul Halim Iskandar.
