Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata admitted that he was surprised when he learned that there were officials from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government who owned land totaling tens of fields.
He conveyed this in a coordination meeting on corruption prevention with the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government.
"I see a lot of DKI Provincial Government officials own tens of plots of land. I don't know," said Alexander at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, December 15.
Alexander said that he saw this condition in the report on the assets of state officials (LHKPN) which were reported annually by all officials. This large number of land parcel ownership also occurred to other agency officials.
"Isn't this sane, are we? Why do we have houses of dozens of fields? This is what makes land prices very expensive because they are controlled by certain groups or individuals. If it's rough to buy houses, but it doesn't have to be dozens of plots of land," explained Alexander.
However, Alexander admitted that he did not want to suspect the officials who had dozens of plots of land. "Hopefully (the dozens of plots of land) are also from halal results. He has any business, I don't know. That's the hope," he continued.
Alexander revealed that the wealth condition of this odd official could be an indication of corruption by state officials. Therefore, to prevent the emergence of criminal acts of corruption, the KPK sent a corruption prevention task force within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The KPK has placed 3 task forces. Alexander admitted that his party deliberately placed more people to oversee the prevention of corruption in the ranks of the office and BUMD in Jakarta. This is because the nominal value of the DKI Jakarta APBD is quite fantastic and the largest in Indonesia.
"We plan to assign not only 1 task force in DKI. We see the statistics of the DKI Provincial Government and the size of the budget. We will assign three special task forces to DKI. If other provinces are sufficient, there will be 1," he said.
He said, the average DKI APBD per year is around Rp. 80 trillion. This nominal is equivalent to the merger of APBD in all provinces of Sumatra or the merger of the Banten APBD, West Java, Central Java, and DI Yogyakarta. Therefore, from the size of the APBD, it is necessary for more than one KPK task force for the DKI Provincial Government.
"(The area of DKI is around 700 square kilometers with an APBD of 80 trillion rupiah. This is extraordinary," said Alexander.
