Deputy Chairperson Of The East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua Simanjuntak, Was Arrested By The KPK OTT Along With 3 OTHER People.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not only arrested the Deputy Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD (Jatim) Sahat Tua Simanjuntak during a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Surabaya. Three people were also arrested, including the private sector on Wednesday night, December 14.

"There were 3 other people who were also secured, consisting of expert staff in the DPRD and the private sector," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, December 15.

The identities of those caught by the silent operation have not been detailed. Ali only said that this activity was carried out because of the alleged bribery related to the allocation of the East Java Provincial Budget.

"Regarding the alleged corruption of bribery in managing the allocation of grant funds, it comes from the East Java Regional Budget," he said.

Meanwhile, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri said bribes were allegedly related to grant funds to community groups. There were cash found but the amount is still counted.

"KPK has arrested alleged corruption related to grant funds to community groups," said Firli.

The public is asked to be patient waiting for the ongoing investigation process. The KPK now has 1x24 time to determine the suspects and the construction of the case.

Any developments will be made transparently. The suspect's announcement will be made through a press conference.
