DEPOK The Depok City Government (Pemkot) has officially postponed the eviction of SDN Pondok Cina 1, Beji, Depok to fulfill the supporting facilities and infrastructure for the teaching and learning process. However, parents will still monitor or oversee the promise of the Mayor of Depok Mohammad Idris.

As stated by Hendro, as the parents of students at SDN 1 Pondok Cina, he and his parents admitted that they would oversee and see if the Depok Provincial Government realized the promise.

"So we will continue to oversee until the finalization process of Pondok Cina 1 is complete," said Hendro as the parent of a student at SDN Pondok Cina, Depok, Wednesday, December 14.

Hendro revealed that he and other parents appreciated the Depok Mayor's decision to postpone the school's evictions.

"We appreciate it. We are just waiting for the steps to be postponed. Don't let this (postponement) be only fun for a moment," he said.

On the one hand, Hendro actually had no problem if the SDN Pondok Cina 1 was evictioned and turned into a mosque. However, he hopes that the Depok City Government will also have to prepare a proper place for his children to pursue education.

"Actually, we don't refuse to build a mosque, but a new building has been prepared. If it can be improved. If it is given a good place, we have no reason to refuse," he concluded.

As previously reported, Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris officially postponed the eviction of SDN 1 Pondok Cina. The decision was conveyed through Mohammad Idris' personal Instagram.

Idris said the decision to postpone it was the basis for the follow-up of the results of the meeting with the Minister of PMK, the Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indonesian Ombudsman and the Ombudsman representing Greater Jakarta as well as the letter from the Governor of West Java.

"For students of SDN 1 Pondok Cina who are still studying at the location, teaching and learning will still be facilitated at the location of SDN Pondok Cina 1 until the construction of the RKB Baru in Pondok Cina 5 which is used as a relocation site," said Idris in his Instagram account seen by VOI, Wednesday, December 14.

"The construction of the mosque at the location of SDN 1 Pondok Cina is postponed, until all students can be relocated to one school, namely SDN Pondok Cina 5," he added. Idris also said that the New Class Space (RKB) at SDN Pondok Cina 5 will be built by the government through the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR with a budget sourced from the 2023 State Budget
