KPAI Asks Depok City Government To Restore KBM At SDN 1 Pondok Cina Depok

Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), Retno Listyarti asked the Depok City Government (Pemkot) to restore Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) at SDN Pondok Cina 1, Beji, Depok City. This was said by Retno in a coordination meeting with the Depok City Government.

"KPAI requests that the learning process for all students of SDN Pocin 1 Depok be returned to the old SDN 1 Pondok Cina building while waiting for the new classroom at SDN Pocin 5 to be completed in June 2023," said Retno in his statement, Tuesday, December 12.

Retno also asked the Depok City Government to increase dialogue with parents regarding the development plan. Because according to him, before the Depok City Government makes a decision, we must prepare it first until the meeting point with the parents of the student regarding the eviction.

"(In addition) the City Government through related ranks, listens to children's voices over educational policies that have an impact on children's education and psychological services, in this case KPAI is ready to bridge the dialogue," he concluded.

Previously, it was reported that a number of parents of SDN 1 Depok students blocked the ranks of the Satpol PP who would vacate the Pondok Cina 1 elementary school building, Depok, Sunday, December 11.

The inflammation carried out by the parents of the students was carried out so that the school would remain standing. They rejected the execution of the emptying. The plan is for the school building to be converted into a large mosque.

"We came here according to orders from the Mayor of Depok to empty the assets of SDN Pondokina 1," said Head of Depok City Satpol PP, Lienda Ratnanurdianny, Sunday, December 11.

The execution of the emptying was carried out by the Satpol PP carrying two trucks and six small vehicles. Lienda said the execution was a follow-up to the Depok Mayor's letter dated June 9, 2022, which stated that the assets of SDN Pondokina 1 must be vacated.
