Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata briefly mentioned President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s statement about leaders who think of the people are those with white hair and chirped face. He said his hair began to turn gray because he thought of the people affected by corrupt practices. He made this statement when he was present at the Peak of the Ministry of Finance's Hakordia Commemoration (Kemenkeu) today, Tuesday, December 13. Initially, Alexander said he had been involved in efforts to eradicate corruption for 11 years. He then asked whether it had an impact to reduce the practice of corruption in the country. "I always think like this, I, right, have been in the eradication of corruption for at least 11 years. Four years as a judge and the last seven years at the KPK," Alexander said as seen from the Ministry of Finance's YouTube account. "Whether for more than nine or ten years there have been positive impacts or significant impacts related to eradicating corruption. I often reflect like that," he continued. Because he always tries to eradicate corruption, Alexander says, his hair is now starting to turn white. Even though his hair has turned gray because he thinks about eradicating corruption, Alexander said that this practice is still happening in the country. In fact, he considered this effort not to be significantly successful. From the corruption perception index (GPA) to the survey issued by the KPK, it turns out that the results have not been encouraging. Corrupt practices are still happening. "Indonesia's perception index for five years is at 37-38. It has been at 40 but has dropped again to 38. If it is used as a benchmark for eradicating corruption, what does it mean, it has not shown quite encouraging results," he concluded.
