Bawaslu Invites Youth In Palopo City To Monitor Money Politics

The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Palopo City, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) invites residents to participate in the supervision of the general election stages, such as alleged violations of money politics.

Bawaslu Commissioner Palopo Ahmad Ali, as reported by Antara, Sunday, December 11, said joint supervision of all parties was important in creating a democratic political system.

"To present elections with integrity is our common goal. Supervision work in Bawaslu is limited to human resources, but if it is supported by the community, supervision can run optimally," he said.

Ahmad Ali said several socialization activities carried out, such as socialization, were aware that election supervision and anti-money politics received attention from the public, especially young people.

He also thanked the government and local residents for the positive response given.

According to him, the enthusiasm of the community in receiving programs that are included is very large, therefore Bawaslu Palopo decided to carry out these activities by targeting urban villages.

"A few moments ago, Bawaslu held a democratic conscious movement activity, involving youth throughout Palopo City. After seeing the enthusiasm of the residents, it was a big time," he also said.

Ahmad Ali explained, from year to year the issue of money politics is a very crucial issue, not only in Palopo, but throughout the region.

Therefore, one form of prevention carried out by Bawaslu is socialization to increase public awareness of the dangers of this issue.

"There is a ignorance that it is better to prevent than cure. It is the same with efforts to prevent the politics of this money. Bawaslu Palopo is actively conducting socialization so that people understand the context in question," said Ali again.
