Clear Again, PLN Recovers Lumajang Electricity And Around Mount Semeru

JAKARTA - Residents around the foot of Mount Semeru can now enjoy electricity from PLN again, after the eruption that occurred on Sunday (4/12) ago. The restoration of electricity in the area at the foot of Mount Semeru allows people to return to their activities.

Wasweni, one of the refugees from the eruption of Mount Semeru, appreciated PLN's alertness in restoring electricity supply. He is also happy because PLN is present not only to provide access to electricity but also health and food assistance for the refugees.

"We are displaced because the ash from Semeru, here everything has been fulfilled, we want to charge cellphones, the lighting from PLN is good, it's bright night, Alhamdulillah it's also sufficient to eat. We are helped by the existence of PLN, the roads are clear," said Wasweni.

Similarly, Edi Sugeng Santoso, who is a refugee in the Candipuro field, feels safer to be at the evacuation post because he feels traumatized by the fear of a similar incident again at any time. Thank you for the facilities that have been provided by PLN, especially for the good lighting, thank you," said Edi in a written statement received by the editor.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo emphasized that PLN will continue to maintain the reliability of electricity supply at evacuation posts and continue to distribute aid during the standby period. Not only is the electricity supply reliable, PLN also distributes logistical assistance through food trucks and provides health services.

"We have prepared a electricity post 24 hours at the location to meet the needs of the refugees. We also ensure that electricity supply, especially for public facilities such as hospitals, local government offices and reliable evacuation locations so that post-eruption treatment can be carried out," said Darmawan.

Darmawan explained that PLN moved quickly to restore electricity in the Lumajang area and around the foot of Mount Semeru in less than 12 hours.

"Quick movement, PLN deployed dozens of personnel to restore electricity supply in several affected areas. As a result, less than 12 hours of electricity supply to all affected customers has recovered," said Darmawan.

In this recovery effort, PLN also distributed assistance in the form of food trucks that were able to distribute 500 servings of ready-to-eat food each liver, 2 ambulances with 3 medical personnel, 1 public toilet car unit containing 4 toilets and PLN standby posts that were ready to serve the needs of refugees. Previously, the Lumajang Regency government confirmed that the emergency alert status lasted for 14 days starting from the eruption of Mount Semeru.
