Garuda Indonesia Transports 10 Thousand Masks From BNPB For Indonesian Citizens In China

JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia transports assistance from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in the form of 10 thousand masks with N-95 specifications to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in China.

"Garuda Indonesia is committed to continuing to support the government, especially BNPB in overcoming and minimizing the corona virus outbreak," said Garuda Indonesia Operations Director, Tumpal M. Hutapea in a statement received by VOI, Friday, January 31.

Head of the Legal, Organization and Cooperation Bureau of BNPB Zaherman Muabesi added that this assistance was BNPB's quick response to the request of the Indonesian Embassy in China as well as the moral support of the Indonesian government for its citizens who were still in Hubei.

The mask as heavy as the aid departed from Jakarta using GA 420 at 16.25 LT and arrived in Denpasar at 19.30 LT on Wednesday, 29 January. The aid was then flown back from Denpasar at 21:35 LT with GA 892 and arrived in Beijing on Thursday 30 January at 05.00 LT.

The smooth process of sending mask assistance is of course inseparable from the good cooperation of the operational team, especially by BPNB and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that the aid can arrive on time and as soon as possible can be used by Indonesian citizens in China who currently need masks.
