JAKARTA - Immigration states that sites that promise to manage electronic Visa on Arrival or e-VoA with fake www.indonesia-evooa.com domains. Foreigners who come to Indonesia are advised not to be deceived in paying visas via the site.

"Currently we are coordinating with relevant agencies to handle this case," said Acting Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Widodo Ekatjahjana in a written statement, Tuesday, December 6, during an interview.

Widodo said Immigration would explore the site. Foreigners who want to enter Indonesia using e-VoA are asked to be more careful.

"Just like the original e-VoA payment mechanism, on this fake site foreigners can also make payments through the payment gateway mechanism. This has entered the realm of cyber crime," he said.

If previously only 46 countries could obtain e-VoA, currently there are 86 countries that are vulnerable to being subjected to fraud in the fake site management of the eVoA.

"We remind you, the official website for e-VoA management is only in molina.imigration.go.id. The site www.indonesia-evoa.com is fake made by irresponsible persons to make profits," said Widodo.

E-VoA can be used for purposes of tourist visits, government duties, business talk visits, goods purchase visits, meeting visits and transits. The VoA extension can be made a maximum one time for the next 30 days.

Previously, the e-VoA officially took effect on Thursday, November 10, 2022, which was regulated through a circular letter from the Acting Director General of Immigration Number IMI-0764.GR.01.01 of 2022.

During the trial period it was enforced on November 4 - 9, 2022, it was recorded that 1,719 e-VoAs had been issued, and 378 foreigners using e-VoA had entered Indonesian territory.
