SERANG - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) will take firm action against trucks that exceed the predetermined threshold. It will force truck drivers to transfer cargo before continuing the journey.

The Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setyadi, said that he would impose fines and tickets for trucks that are overloaded or overloaded or overloaded (ODOL). This is done in line with the provisions of article 277 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

"We have to be firm in our actions. Due to limited operations and personnel, there are still many who have passed. It's okay to continue enforcing the law gradually," said Director General Budi in a written statement, Wednesday, December 16.

The load limit allowed to pass if it does not exceed 50 percent of the vehicle capacity. Budi said, until 2023, the government will continue to strive to suppress ODOL trucks gradually until the load threshold is 5 percent.

Head of BPTD Region VIII Banten, Endi Suprasetio, said that the action of transferring loads of overloaded trucks was in accordance with the direction of the Director General of Land Transportation.

"For trucks that are overloaded, according to the direction of the Director General of Land Transportation, they must make a U-turn back to their place of origin, transfer the cargo, or if it is too late, go to P21," said Endi.

In this law enforcement operation, a Hino truck with police number B 9674 UIS was asked to transfer or transfer part of its cargo to a truck with police number B 9063 TYZ. The process of moving cargo is carried out around the BPTD Region VIII Banten office.

"This flat deck car owned by PT Mitra Makmur Transport carries refined sugar from Cilegon for the purpose of Tangerang to commit an overloading violation with the total weight of the vehicle and its contents being 58,800 kg," said Endi.

Previously, an ODOL truck loaded with coal and red earth (Galian C) also transferred mustan to the rest area of the KM 68 toll road from Merak towards Jakarta.
