Indian border police said on Tuesday they had shot down a drone from Pakistan near Amritsar City, allegedly an unusual payload.
Border Security Forces said they shot a hexacopter late Monday inside India near Chaharpur Village, about 40 km from Amritsar City, finding allegations of drugs accompanying it.
"The BSF standby forces once again managed to capture drones and thwart smuggling attempts," said a representative of the troops, reported by The National News December 1.
The BSF said the drone, weighing about 18kg, carried 3kg of plastic bags filled with white powder when found damaged on agricultural land.
The UAV incident came just four days after troops claimed to have shot down another drone in the region.
