Driven By PAN To Become A Presidential Candidate, Ganjar Back Leave The Final Decision To Megawati

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has fully handed over the decision regarding the presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election to the party chairmen. Most importantly, to the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"There is a party process in each of them, and in the PDI-P there is a process; and the PDI-P must have a General Chairperson (Megawati) and we have discussed it many times," said Ganjar in Semarang, Central Java, Friday 2 December.

Responding to the support from the National Mandate Party (PAN), Ganjar invited the party chairmen to discuss and determine regarding his candidacy.

"There will definitely be communication between parties. Let the general chairmen talk and decide about this presidential candidate," he added, quoted by Antara.

According to Ganjar, each party has an internal mechanism and he respects the process. He also thanked him for receiving appreciation from other political parties.

"I thank you, may I express my gratitude because as a cadre of PDI-P, other parties appreciate it," he said.

Nevertheless, Ganjar considered it still too early to say that PAN carried him as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"Everything is still too early, yes. I came earlier to welcome Muskerwil at PAN and this is just PAN Central Java, I don't know anything else," he added.

He also emphasized that he is currently focusing on carrying out his duties as regional head and taking care of various problems in Central Java.

"My job is still to run as governor, control inflation today, we are also preparing Christmas and New Year, this is December, yes. Floods still exist, landslides still exist, that is of course my concern," said Ganjar.

He reiterated that Megawati Soekarnoputri will determine whether she will run as a presidential candidate or not.
