JAKARTA - Singapore is reportedly ready to become a distribution center for the COVID-19 vaccine for the Southeast Asia and Southwest Pacific regions. Indonesia can also make these efforts to become a center for the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

This was revealed by epidemic history researcher, Syefri Lewis, according to him, according to him, Indonesia is quite capable of developing a manufacturing hub for the COVID-19 vaccine. Given that this step is also important in developing and producing domestically made vaccines.

"Indonesia must be able to become a vaccine manufacturing hub because first, our population is large. By being a manufacturing center or hub, we can have faster access to get and deliver vaccines to our residents," said Syefri in his written statement, Wednesday, December 16.

According to him, by becoming a vaccine manufacturing hub, said Syefri, Indonesia could further reduce costs associated with distributing vaccines to the public.

"Indonesia can reduce the lower cost of vaccines by becoming an international hub for distribution in Southeast Asia," he added.

In order to make this mission a success, he asked all institutions to work together under the umbrella of the Covid Management and Economic Election Task Force. He also asked all parties to stop the polemic related to vaccines and focus on joint work in making the vaccine program successful in the entire community.
