Ready To Face Rizieq Shihab's Resistance At The Pretrial Hearing, The Police Will Reveal The Facts

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters emphasized that it is ready to face a pretrial lawsuit by the High Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Rizieq Shihab, for the determination of the suspect in a case of alleged incitement and violation of the prosecution protocol (prokes).

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said that later the team from the Police Legal Division would advance in the pretrial trial.

"In principle, we respect them, but we are also ready to face the lawsuit," said Argo in his statement, Wednesday, December 16.

In addition, Argo also said that his party would reveal all evidence of the determination of the suspect Rizieq Shihab. Thus, the determination of the suspect who has been questioned and is considered to have irregularities will be refuted

"We will reveal the facts at the trial later," he said.

Previously, Rizieq Shihab submitted a pretrial application to challenge the determination of the suspect in a case of incitement and violation of the health protocol (prokes). The pretrial was submitted to the South Jakarta District Court.

Rizieq Shihab's pretrial lawsuit has been registered with number 150 / Pid.Pra / 2020 / PN South Jakarta, dated December 15.

"Today the HRS advocacy team registered a pretrial request to the South Jakarta District Court," FPI lawyer Aziz Yanuar told VOI, Tuesday, December 15.

Aziz said the pretrial lawsuit was a legal challenge by Rizieq Shihab. This is because the process of determining the suspect against him is considered odd.

"Petitumnya declared invalid and canceled the determination of the suspect, the arrest and detention of HRS," he said.

"This is an elegant effort and one of our efforts to defend the legal interests of our Ulama, Habaib, and our Grand Imam, IB HRS," he continued.
