Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that his party would procure 120 electric motorcycles to be used to patrol in 2023.
"We focus on procuring two-wheeled electric motors which we hope can be used as patrol motorbikes for the Transportation Agency. We propose around 120 units," said Syafrin when met at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, November 30.
The budget for the procurement of electric motors is proposed in the draft APBD for the 2023 fiscal year. Meanwhile, the procurement of the motorbike is submitted to the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD).
In addition to the electric service motorbike, Syafrin said that other electric vehicles that will be added are Transjakarta buses. Now, there are 30 Transjakarta electric buses that are already operating. Next year, the DKI Provincial Government will add 100 units.
"Next year it remains in process. This year there are 30 units. Later, at least next year it can be completed into 100 units for operational ones," he said.
The procurement of electric service vehicles is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2022 concerning Battery-Based Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicles) as Vehicles of the Operational and/or Individual Service of Central Government Agencies and Regional Governments.
This Presidential Instruction was signed by President Jokowi on September 13, 2022. Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said this inpres was a form of Jokowi's commitment to implementing the energy transition from fossil sources to new and renewable energy.
"Untuk mewujudkan desain besar transisi energi, pemerintah memulainya dengan melakukan transisi dan konversion kendaraan konvensi ke kendaraan listrik," kata Moeldoko, beberapa waktu lalu.
Presidential Instruction Number 7/2022 is addressed to all ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, cabinet secretaries, presidential chiefs of staff, attorney generals, TNI commanders, Indonesian police chiefs, heads of non-ministerial government agencies, heads of state institution secretariats, governors, as well as regents/mayors.
Through this Presidential Instruction, Jokowi ordered every minister to the regional head to draft and establish regulations to support the acceleration of the implementation of the use of electric vehicles. The President also instructed the preparation of budget allocations to support the program.
Based on Presidential Instruction 7/2022, the use of electric vehicles as government official vehicles can be done through a scheme of purchasing, renting, and/or converting fueled motorized vehicles into battery-based electric motorized vehicles in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
