TERNATE - The case of an elementary school student in Ternate, North Maluku (Malut), the victim of a beating by a friend ended peacefully. "In response to the bullying case, the North Ternate Police have mediated both parties which were attended by the parents of the victims and the parents of the perpetrators as well as the Principal and UPTD of North Maluku Province," said Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Kombes Michael Irwan Thamsil in Ternate, Antara, Monday, November 28. He explained that the bullying incident was carried out by one of the students and his three friends to the victim in the elementary school room by hitting, bullying and making videos and going viral on social media. "The National Police moved quickly by calling various parties for mediation at the North Ternate Police on November 17, 2022," he said. According to the Head of Public Relations, in the mediation, both parties have forgiven each other and made a Joint Agreement Letter with the contents that both parties have forgiven each other. "The perpetrator also accepts the cost of providing assistance for the victim to undergo psychological treatment until he is declared cured, and will not repeat it again," he said. In fact, the victim's parents also agreed not to continue the matter to the realm of law. The Head of Public Relations also appealed to all North Maluku people, to all parents to always pay attention to their children's behavior so that they are always given an understanding of character from an early age. "This case is a lesson for all parents to provide more understanding and lessons from an early age for their children regarding behavior, must respect each other and not hurt others," he said. In addition, parents must be extra in supervising their children in social media. "Let's be wise and smart in using social media.
