SMRC Survey: Electability Of Ganjar Pranowo To Stay In The Peak After The Declaration Of Anies

JAKARTA - The Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting Institute (SMRC) released the results of a survey on the electability of prospective presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election. As a result, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo remained at the top even though Anies Baswedan had been declared by NasDem as a presidential candidate.

SMRC Research Director Deni Irvani conveyed that Ganjar's electability reached 26.7 percent in semi-open questions. Then, followed by Prabowo far below it with 18.8 percent, Anies with 17 percent, and other figures under 4 percent.

"If the presidential election is held when the last survey is conducted, there are 3 names that have received the most significant support: Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo Subianto, and Anies Baswedan. Other names are still far behind," Deni said in his statement, Monday, November 28.

In the simulation of 4 names, Ganjar is also still superior among other names with the acquisition of support reaching 33.5 percent, then Prabowo 26.9 percent, then Anies 24 percent,

Meanwhile, Puan Maharani is in the lowest position with 3.4 percent.

In the simulation of 3 names, Ganjar also received 33.5 percent support, Prabowo 30 percent, and Anies 25.1 percent.

"Ganjar Pranowo is most liked by other figures (liked by 89 percent of those who know). Ganjar's liking rate is more positive than Prabowo Subianto as much as 76 percent and Anies Baswedan 75 percent," he said.

Furthermore, Deni predicts Ganjar's electability will continue to increase ahead of the 2024 presidential election. The reason is, he said that when the trend of Ganjar's popularity still tends to increase compared to other figures.

"With a positive acceptance rate, Ganjar's electability is expected to continue to progress as voter awareness increases to him," said Deni.

The SMRC survey was conducted face-to-face on 5-13 November 2022. The population was chosen randomly (strateified multistage random sampling) of 1,220 respondents.

The survey rate response is 1012 or 83 percent. The survey margin of error with the sample size is estimated at approximately 3.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
