BNPB Use Motorcycles To Inter-Aid For Victims Of Cianjur Earthquakes

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) uses motorbikes to deliver assistance for earthquake victims in areas that are difficult to reach using cars in the Cianjur Regency, West Java Province.

As quoted in a written statement from BNPB, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 26, the Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto said that motorcycles were used to deliver aid packages directly to families which included ready-to-eat meals for three days as well as blankets and mattresses.

As many as 50 motorbikes were deployed to deliver logistical assistance packages for families affected by the earthquake in the Cianjur Regency area.

"The logistics distribution using this motorbike is directed to reach points that are difficult to reach using cars, so that in the future we can really ensure that the needs of residents are met," said Suharyanto.

According to BNPB data on Friday, November 25, at 18.00 WIB, assistance was distributed to areas affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency, including 3,000 food packages, 6,000 blankets, 5,000 mattresses, 500 mattresses, 275 velbeds, 1,000 cleaning equipment, 200 sets of refugee tents measuring 2x2 meters, and 10 generators.

On Saturday, BNPB distributed aid in the form of 30 refugee tents, 1,000 rolled tents, 2,000 food packages, 5,000 blankets, 5,000 mattresses, and 2,000 cleaning equipment to areas affected by the earthquake in Cianjur.

According to data from the BNPB Operations Control Center on Friday, November 25 at 18.00 WIB, 73,525 residents were affected by the earthquake who fled in 16 sub-districts in Cianjur Regency.

As of Friday, November 25, according to BNPB data, 310 residents died as a result of the earthquake that hit Cianjur Regency on November 21, 2022. The disaster also caused damage to many houses, schools, places of worship, and health facilities.
