NasDem Absolute Revision Of IKN Law, PKB: It's Okay, Wants To Leave Coalition There's Also No Problem

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) respects the attitude of the NasDem faction of the DPR RI which chose abstain related to the revision of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital (IKN) to be proposed for the 2023 Priority Prolegnas. PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid assessed that NasDem's attitude would also not affect the DPR's decision and government policy. Because, according to him, President Joko Widodo's coalition political party already holds the majority of votes in the DPR. "We respect NasDem's decision. After all, it doesn't affect anything," he told reporters, Saturday, November 26. In fact, said Jazilul, PKB also has no problem if NasDem chooses to leave the Jokowi-Maruf government coalition. "Without NasDem having received majority support in the DPR. Even if NasDem wants to leave the coalition there is no problem," said Jazilul. The important thing is that it is within a constructive and productive limit," he said. Currently, six of the seven party factions supporting the government accept the revision of Law number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital (UU IKN) to be included in the Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) in 2023. Meanwhile, the NasDem faction declared abstention. Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI, Supratman Andi Agtas, said 6 factions that received the revision of the IKN Law were included in the 2023 Priority Prolegnas, namely the PDI-P, Golkar, Gerindra, PKB, PAN, and PPP factions. Meanwhile, the NasDem faction has not made a decision or abstained. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party and PKS outside the government rejected the revision of the IKN Law proposed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly. "Those who accept are political parties supporting the government, all of them. Those who refuse are PKS and Democrats," Supratman said at the DPR Baleg meeting, Wednesday, November 23. "(NasDem) abstain, yes, not refuse. Wow, this still has to be consulted. The clearer the direction and purpose, if this is the case," continued Supratman, greeted by laughter from members.
