Only 18 Of The 74 Vital Hulu Migas Objects Have Security Certificates, Whereas Guarantee For Investors Is Important

The National Police Headquarters ensures that 18 national vital objects for upstream oil and gas business activities in the Oil and Gas SKK environment have pocketed security management certificates.

"The issuance of certification given by the National Police to vital national objects is not a formality," said Head of the Shabara Baharkam Police Corps, Inspector General Priyo Widyanto at the International Convention III of the 2022 Oil and Gas Industry in Nusa Dua, Bali, Friday, November 25.

Even so, there are still 74 national vital objects for upstream oil and gas business activities that have not yet obtained the security management certificate.

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 202.K/HK.02/MEM.S/2021 on October 18, 2021, there were 92 upstream oil and gas business activities related to SKK Migas.

Priyo added that of the 18 upstream oil and gas business activities, three received gold titles with a score of 86-100, the rest were categorized as silver and bronze.

The Director of Security for Vital Korsabhara Baharkam Police, Brigadier General Suhendri, said that the police applied five security standard elements which were translated into 118 security indicators before they had a security management certificate.

Before obtaining the certification, he continued, through several stages that began with the Technical Cooperation Agreement (PKT). From the PKT, the National Police carried out the audit stages of the security management system starting from technical guidance, audits, clarifications and issuance of certificates signed by the police chief.

"With the certificate, it guarantees investors that this national vital object is safe and has been audited by the National Police," he said.

He hopes that other upstream oil and gas business activities will obtain the security certificate because every year, he continued, his party provides socialization related to the security management.

He explained that based on Presidential Decree No. 63 of 2004 concerning Security of National Vital Objects, the National Police is responsible for ensuring the security of national vital objects.

In addition to the security certificate, his party provides security services by placing personnel in these vital objects. Placement of personnel based on potential threats to the area of upstream oil and gas business activities.
