LaNyalla Presses Teaching On Disasters Massively

JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, said that the Indonesian people must be equipped with knowledge about saving themselves when facing disasters. This is because Indonesia is an area that is prone to disasters.

Recently, the Cianjur earthquake killed many lives. Not only that, hundreds of houses and collapsed government buildings. Losses due to this disaster are loss of valuable property, property and soul.

"Knowing about the rescue of disaster is very important for the community. And must continue to be taught massively to remote villages," said LaNyalla on the sidelines of the Electoral Regional Visit (Kundapil) to East Java, Thursday, November 24.

The senator from East Java said that despite repeated earthquake disasters, in fact, the public did not yet understand the steps to save themselves.

"Mitigation of earthquake disasters is an important task of BMKG and must be followed, because the fact is that the average victim was crushed by the rubble of buildings affected by the earthquake. The impact was fatal," said LaNyalla.

For this reason, LaNyalla suggested that routine simulations of disaster rescue be carried out to suppress the potential for high casualties.

"The public's memory must be continuously maintained regarding this disaster response. Rescue measures must continue to be simulated, especially in disaster-prone areas," suggested AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.
