Reviewing The Sayang Hospital With Prabowo, Jokowi Makes Sure The Victims Of The Cianjur Earthquake Are Handled Properly

CIANJUR - President Joko Widodo visited the Sayang Hospital, Cianjur Regency to check the condition of patients being treated as victims of the Cianjur earthquake. On the second visit, Jokowi was accompanied by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto. Jokowi wants to ensure that patients affected by the earthquake being treated can be handled properly. "Come here to ensure that the sick treatment is really handled properly," said Jokowi at the Cianjur Hospital, Thursday, November 24. Based on information from the hospital, it was recorded that 741 patients had received treatment. Some have returned home and left 24 patients, others have been referred to hospitals out of town. "Some were sent home, some were referred to Bandung or Jakarta for severe cases. To Sukabumi, those were severe cases. I think I see that the handling here, both heavy ones, are also referred well, then those who have recovered are also allowed to go home," said Jokowi. Sslain Prabowo, Jokowi during his visit was also accompanied by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, to Deputy Governor of West Java of the General Ruzhanul Law. Previously, Jokowi also visited the locations affected by the earthquake in Cugenang District. The former governor of DKI Jakarta found that there were still earthquake victims who lacked tents and met clean water needs. Jokowi came back down directly after two days ago checking the handling of the earthquake emergency response process in Cianjur. This time, his visit is to ensure that logistics in the field are well distributed. "The lack of tents, there were also water complaints because there are indeed many points," he said. Jokowi also checked the delivery of food, medicines and all kinds of logistics. So far, the obstacles faced regarding logistics delivery for victims of the Cianjur earthquake are in the weather and the terrain that is traversed in distribution. "Because the conditions are steep, it is still raining, and there are aftershocks, the soil is unstable, so caution is needed," said Jokowi. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 rocked Cianjur on Monday, November 21 at noon. The bonus caused many people to die and were injured. It was recorded that houses and public infrastructure were also heavily damaged. Based on BNPB data as of Wednesday, November 23 at 17.00 WIB, the Cianjur earthquake killed 271 people. Meanwhile, 2,043 injured and 151 still missing. BNPB also recorded that 61,098 people were displaced.
