JAKARTA - The sad news came from the Indonesian Army. Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Lt. Gen. Herman Asarib died. This was confirmed by the Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service, Brigadier General TNI Nefra Firdaus.

Nefra said Herman died at the Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD), Jakarta due to illness.

"Yes, it is true that he died due to illness. He died at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital an hour ago, at 13.30 WIB," Nefra told reporters by telephone, Monday, December 14.

However, he did not answer how long Herman was hospitalized. Meanwhile, when asked if he died from exposure to COVID-19, he admitted that he had received confirmation regarding this.

Currently, the body is still being rested at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital and subsequently, according to the family's request, it will be brought to Jayapura, Papua to be buried at the Jayapura TMP.
