As previously reported, the Acting Head of the BMKG Earthquake and Tsunami Center, Daryono, explained that this earthquake was located at coordinates 6.86 degrees South Latitude - 07.01 degrees East Longitude, or precisely located on land in the Sukalarang area, Sukabumi, West Java at a depth of 11 km. “ With regard to the location of the epicenter and the depth of the hypocenter, the earthquake that occurred was a shallow earthquake due to Cimandiri fault activity. The results of the analysis of the source mechanism show that the earthquake has a sliding movement mechanism (strike-slip),” said Daryono.
