Rizieq Shihab Becomes A Detainee At The Detention Center For The Directorate Of Narcotics At Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - After being questioned for 14 hours, investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya finally finished investigating the High Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab as a suspect.

Furthermore, he will be detained at the detention center in cases of suspected violation of health protocols.

He said Rizieq would be detained for the first 20 days from 12 December to 31 December with objective and subjective considerations from investigators.

"The objective of the threat is over five years. The objective is that the suspect does not run away, removes evidence, and repeats his actions," he said.

Today, Rizieq surrendered to Polda Metro Jaya after he was named a suspect in a case of alleged violation of health protocols.

In this case, five other people were also named as suspects, namely Haris Ubaidillah as committee chairman, Ali bin Alwi Alatas (committee secretary), Maman Suryadi (FPI Commander and person in charge of security), Sobri Lubis (person in charge of the event), and Idrus ( head of the show section).

Polda Metro Jaya has named Rizieq as a suspect charged with Article 160 of the Criminal Code concerning Incitement to Commit Violence and Not Complying with the Provisions of the Law, as well as Article 216 of the Criminal Code concerning Obstructing the Provisions of the Law.

Meanwhile, the five other suspects were charged with Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine.
