JAKARTA - One resident in Jorong Sawah Suduik, Nagari Salayo, West Sumatra, died from being electrocuted.

The Head of the Kubung Police, Iptu Andri Perkasa, confirmed that the death of a woman in Nagari Salayo was caused by an electric current.

"The incident occurred this Friday at around 15.00 WIB," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, November 19.

The victim is Dila (17) who is still a student. Living in Jorong Sawah Suduik, Nagari Salayo, Kubung District, Solok Regency.

"The incident occurred in the victim's house near the washing machine," he said.

The incident began when the victim was washing clothes using a washing machine located near the door of the house.

Based on witness testimony, the victim was found lying down and unconscious next to a plug that was suspected of being electrocuted which connected electricity to the washing machine.

"Then the victim was immediately taken to the Solok Hospital. However, the hospital was declared dead," he said.

After hearing the news, the Kubung Police immediately went to the scene, the family agreed not to do a post-mortem on the victim which was confirmed by a statement and signed by the family.
