JAKARTA - The Voxpol Center Research and Consulting assesses that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s support for one of the candidates in the 2024 presidential election does not affect electability much. This is based on the results of a survey they conducted on October 22-7 November.
"President Joko Widodo's influence is fairly low to direct the public to certain candidates," said Executive Director of the Voxpol Center Research and Consulting Pangi Syarwi Chaniago in a written statement quoted on Saturday, November 19.
Through a survey of 1,220 respondents, 65.7 percent said Jokowi's support would not affect their choice. While 25 percent of them felt affected and the remaining 9.3 percent did not know or did not answer.
Of the numbers affected by Jokowi's choice, 32.1 percent chose Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo; 22.3 percent chose former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan; and 18.7 percent chose Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto.
This survey activity uses a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of approximately 2.81 percent.
