Update On COVID-19 As Of 12 December: New Cases Of 6,388, Recovering, Up 4,490

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 59,388 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,388 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 611,631 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Saturday, December 12.

Today's cases increased by 4,490, so that a total of 501,376 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 142 people and a total of 18,653 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 1,283 new cases and a total of 65,355 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 992 new cases with a total of 65,600 cases. DKI Jakarta has 951 new cases and a total of 151,201 cases. Then, East Java has 769 new cases and a total of 69,130 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,003 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 928 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 529 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 371 recovered cases.

Then, none of the provinces reported having no new cases today.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,331,331. In detail, a total of 6,221,105 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 110,226 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 62,224 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
