Republican Party Authorities US House Of Representatives President Biden Ready To Cooperate

JAKARTA - President Joe Biden congratulated and is ready to cooperate with the Republican Party, in line with the success of winning the majority in the US House of Representatives, after the results of the interim elections managed to outperform the Democratic Party which won control of the US Senate.

The victory gave Republicans the power to control President Biden's agenda, as well as to launch an investigation that has the potential to undermine politics against the government.

Republican victories in California saw them cross the necessary limits, winning 218 seats out of a total of 435 seats, so that they could control the US House of Representatives.

The current Republican leader in the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, may have a challenging path ahead as he will need his turbulent caucus to maintain critical votes, including funding the government and the military.

"Americans are ready for a new direction and House Republicans are ready to make it happen," McCarthy said on Twitter.

The defeat took some of President Biden's strength in Washington. But on Wednesday he congratulated McCarthy, saying he would work hard to deliver results.

"The American people want us to finish something for them," President Biden said in a statement.

"I congratulate (Kevin) leader McCarthy on (the success of) Republicans winning the DPR majority, and I am ready to work with Republicans to provide results for the families of workers," he said in a statement issued by the White House, citing TASS.

President Biden said the election "shows the strength and resilience of American democracy."

Meanwhile, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives "will continue to play a major role in supporting President Biden's agenda, with a strong influence over the few Republican majority."
