JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) 's children and son-in-law, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Bobby Nasution excel in quick counts in the 2020 Pilkada.

According to the results of a quick count issued by Charta Politika on Wednesday, December 9, Gibran, who ran for the Solo Pilwalkot as a candidate for mayor with his running mate, Teguh Prakosa, managed to beat his potential opponent, Bagyo Wahyono-FX Supardjo (Bajo). The Gibran-Teguh pair won 87.15 percent of the vote while the Bajo pair won 12.85 percent.

While at the Medan Pilwalkot, Bobby Nasution, who ran as a candidate for mayor with Aulia Rachman, also won over his opponent, Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi. According to the quick count results of Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi, candidate number 1, received 44.81 percent of votes while candidate pair number 2 Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman received 55.19 percent of votes.

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said this victory was a public response to the political issue of the dynasty that had been blowing when the two decided to advance in the 2020 Pilkada. a number of parties.

"This victory is proof of people's sovereignty in seeing the figure of a regional leader candidate. Both of them show serious and persistent enthusiasm and commitment despite many attempts to hinder them, for example, through negative campaigns related to dynastic politics," said Hasto in his written statement.

In addition, this victory is also a sign that these two members of the Jokowi family are not discouraged because they are hit by negative issues of dynastic politics. According to Hasto, Gibran and Bobby actually showed a strong spirit and wanted to try to prove themselves to the public

"Both of them are proving themselves as leaders who are brave and willing to fight to prove themselves. Both of them continue to get closer to the community, coming down to the ground as the true strength of the Indonesian nation. This is in line with the direction of Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri who asked all cadres to always be among the people. "he said.

Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, said that the victory over Jokowi's son and son-in-law was not actually a sign that society was not influenced by dynastic politics.

According to him, this victory actually marks the proliferation of dynastic political practices in Indonesia and is not something strange because this was widely predicted when Gibran and Bobby decided to advance in the 2020 Pilkada Serentak.

"The victory of Gibran and Bobby actually ordains, nourishes dynastic politics. So it is not strange because it has been predicted that the son and son-in-law of RI-1 (Jokowi) will win easily," said Ujang when contacted by VOI, Saturday, December 12.

However, the story will be different when Gibran and Bobby lose. Although it is impossible, said Ujang, it would be funny if Jokowi's son and son-in-law lost the regional head election.

"I have already said that it goes well in advance, winning is just a matter of waiting time and everyone understands that," he said.

Although considered as evidence of the fertile practice of dynastic politics, Ujang considered that the two of them still had the opportunity to prove themselves as truly capable regional heads not only because of the names of their parents behind them. This is done by realizing all the campaign promises made by Gibran and Bobby during the campaign in Solo and Medan.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) Dedi Kurnia Syah said this victory was proof that the oligarchy was strengthening. The reason is that Gibran and Bobby, who are businessmen with strong political backgrounds, are considered to be able to monopolize access. "This is not only a matter of political kinship but also a matter of family politics in which both entrepreneurs are successful in extraordinary times," said Dedi.

"So that economic access has the potential to be monopolized because of the extent of political power," he added.

In addition, this victory is also considered to be a sign that Jokowi is not much different from a leader who perpetuates family power in the country.

"There is great hope that this practice of power will actually end in the Jokowi era, but it turns out that he has even contributed to the enrichment of kinship politics and of course it is very unfortunate that this insensitivity even though the pretext of democracy allows him," said Dedi.

In the future, after being inaugurated, Gibran and Bobby are considered to be capable in the area they lead so that they are not considered victorious because of the help of their parents' names.
