Long Way Rizieq Shihab Finally Want Police Checked

JAKARTA - High Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab has been named a suspect in a sedition case. In the same series, the police police also named five other suspects with suspicions.

Apart from Rizieq, the five people named the suspect include, Chairman of the Akad Nikah Committee Haris Ubaidilah, Secretary of the Akad Nikah Ali Alatas Committee, Responsible for Security Maman Suryadi, Person in Charge for Akad Nikah Events Ahmad Sobri Lubis, and Head of Akad Nikah Events Section Idrus.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that the determination of the suspect in this case was based on the title pekara. Investigators concluded that the six people had committed violations.

"We have upgraded these 6 people from witnesses to suspects," Yusri told reporters, Thursday, December 10.

In this case, said Yusri, the investigator suspected different articles for the suspects according to their roles. Rizieq Shihab was charged with Articles 160 and 216 of the Criminal Code.

"The first is that as the organizer, MRS 'own brother is under suspicion in Articles 160 and 216 (KUHP)," said Yusri.

Article 160 of the Criminal Code contains incitement to committing violence and not complying with the provisions of the law, with the threat of six years in prison or a fine of Rp. 4,500.

Meanwhile, Article 216 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning Obstacles to Legal Provisions. The threat is imprisonment for four months and two weeks or a fine of Rp. 9,000.

Meanwhile, the other suspects were only charged under Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine. Under this regulation they are threatened with one year imprisonment or a Rp100 million fine.

Police Chase

Before being named a suspect, Rizieq was absent several times from police questioning. The police stalked Rizieq so that his movements were monitored.

In the aftermath of this stalking, 6 members of the Special Laskar guarding Rizieq Shihab were shot dead by the police. They were given strict action for attacking police officers.

According to the police, the attack took place on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road. The attack was started with a special army car which stopped the police car.

Then, about 10 of the special laskar attacked the members' cars using firearms (senpi) and sharp weapons (sajam). Until finally the police returned the shots.

As a result, six people died at the location. Meanwhile, four other troops fled.

Meanwhile, the FPI version, the six laskar were kidnapped by the police and shot at close range.

Rizieq's Cooperative Efforts

Shortly after being named the suspect, Rizieq responded by sending a team of FPI attorneys. They came to Polda Metro Jaya to coordinate with investigators.

A member of the FPI lawyer team, Aziz Yanuar, said that his party would request a letter of summons for Rizieq as a suspect. In fact, it was said that the FPI leader would be present when questioned.

"We will take this, right when we arrest there is a letter, there is a letter summons to be checked to come, so we will take it now, when is the time we will, Insyaallah, fulfill it," said Aziz.

Aziz said, Rizieq's response was to give the mandate to take a summons on the grounds that he wanted to be cooperative and obey the law as a citizen. In addition, Rizieq also does not want any more commotion when the summons delivery process is as before.

"These considerations may actually be possible but not a basis, we are essentially proactive for law enforcement and we do not intend to complicate this process," he explained.

"That's why we are proactive before sending it, before the police bother to come, we will come here," he said.

In fact, Aziz also mentioned that Rizieq was actually planning to fulfill the summons when he had not been named a suspect. This has also been coordinated with investigators.

At that time, Rizieq, who was not present at the second examination as a witness, sent a lawyer to ask the investigators to reschedule. The reason was, at that time he was recovering his health.

"Earlier our plan was that if there were no dynamics like this (the suspect was named), Monday (December 14) we would come, together with Habib Rizieq and other witnesses to undergo examination," he said.

But with the determination of this suspect, the plan has changed. Aziz said, changing the dynamics of this case, then, his party would meet investigators and take a summons for examination for Rizieq Shihab as a suspect.

"Today we take the letter, if the letter is stated, for example, the examination schedule is Wednesday, yes we will come Wednesday, depending on which letter we want to take," he said.

Threat of arrest

Polda Metro Jaya emphasized that they would still immediately arrest the FPI leader. This is because Rizieq has been named a suspect.

"Yesterday it was confirmed that there were no more (summons) in this case the Jakarta Metro Police would arrest MRS (Muhammad Rizieq Shihab)," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus, Friday, December 11.

The arrest of Rizieq Shihab, said Yusri, was because he did not fulfill the summons twice. At that time, Rizieq Shihab was summoned as a witness in the case that is currently trapping him.

"Yesterday, MRS explained, I affirm that the first witness 'summons did not come. The second witness' summons did not come," he said.

"I repeat Polda Metro Jaya will make arrests of MRS," he continued.

Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran emphasized that no group or community organization (ormas) should place itself above the state. If mass organizations create noise and criminal acts, the police will take firm action.

"There is no single group or mass organization that places itself above the state, let alone these mass organizations committing a criminal act," said Fadil.

Fadil also talked about several criminal acts committed by certain mass organizations. Even the actions against the law have been going on for years.

"What is the crime? Conducting hate speech, committing incitement, spreading hate speech, spreading fake news, it went on over and over for years," he added.

Rizieq is ready to be examined

Rizieq Shihab promised to go to Polda Metro Jaya to undergo an examination related to a case of violation of health protocols on Saturday.

"Tonight I announce it to all the nation's children, God willing, tomorrow, Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the morning I will come to Polda Metro Jaya, God willing," said Rizieq in a video uploaded on the Youtube channel Front TV, reported by Antara. , Saturday, December 12th.

Rizieq claims he has never run away or avoided the legal process, but is in a state of health that must rest for recovery.

"I have never run away, let alone hide. Once again, I have never again and have never hidden. Because all this time, during the recovery process I have mostly sat at the Islamic Boarding School for Agrocultural Islamic Boarding Megamendung," said Rizieq.
