Ganjar Leaves Assistance For Ponirah Whose House Is Flat With Land

JAKARTA - Ponirah can't hide her emotion when she receives assistance to build a new house. The house she lives in with her wife, razed to the ground after being hit by a landslide, last Sunday, November 6.

The moment occurred when Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo visited the landslide point in Karangduwur Village, Dad District, Kebumen Regency. Ganjar was accompanied by the Regent of Kebumen, Arif Sugiyanto during a review there.

"Why is this evenly distributed, how many houses were there? But there were no victims," said Ganjar.

Several village officials who accompanied Ganjar said there were no victims of the landslide at that time. Only one house was razed to the ground because it was hit by a landslide. It turned out that Ponirah and his wife were at the location.

"Mas Iku is the story of Peye, then you get the pan gawe omah, isn't it? (how about the story, do you want to build a house here?)," said Ganjar, pointing at the tilted land across from the rest of his house.

"Yes, sir," said the wife of Ponirah.

Ganjar was shocked by the condition of the land that the Ponirah pair wanted to occupy. Because, it is not far from the previous landslide point. Even the contour of the new land is on the cliff.

"I suggest this, mas, not here to build the house again. Later, let's help this with the village head. Build the house in a safer place," said Ganjar.

The proposal from the Governor of Central Java for two periods was successful. The couple agreed to build a house at a new location. The couple's anxiety was greeted by the applause of the regent and local village officials.

"Well, you don't have to worry. There are already people who want to help. Later from the village there will also be. Mas Pon has just taken care of it, a good house will be built later," said Ganjar, Wednesday, November 16.

Ponirah and his wife seemed to wipe their tears. Ganjar handed over assistance of Rp. 15 million from philanthropy. In addition, Ponirah also received assistance from the village of Rp. 10 million.

"Alhamdulillah, we talked to you earlier, we mixed it up a little, so the victims want it for them later to make the house in a safer place," said Ganjar after the review.

Ganjar said the assistance was handed over to the local village head. The Regent of Kebumen acts as the coordinator and oversees the progress.

Ganjar appreciates all components of society involved and responsive to this disaster. The hope is that in the future, Ganjar wants public education to be prioritized in order to respond to disasters.

"At least anticipate to be safe, that's when a disaster occurs, that's all and thank God I want it, and because I want it, we'll execute it as soon as possible," he said.

Meanwhile, landslides hit a number of villages in Dad's District, Kebumen. Precisely around the Menanti Beach tourist attraction, whose contour area is indeed hilly.

Ganjar also appealed to a number of other flood-prone areas and landslides, such as Kebumen, Purworejo, Banjarnegara, Temanggung, Wonosobo, to the West to Purbalingga Banyumas, even to Cilacap.

This is indeed a mountainous area. This is an area that is really vulnerable. So we have to be fully alert," he said.
