The Bukittinggi route to Maninjau, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, was paralyzed after a fallen tree occurred in the Kelok 44 Tanjung Raya area, precisely at the 42nd corner, Wednesday, November 16. The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Agam Regency, Bambang Warsito, when confirmed, said that his party was currently evacuating. "The fallen tree was discovered this afternoon at around 11.25 WIB, a large tree fell in Kelok 42, Jorong Kuok III Koto Nagari Matua Mudiak, Matur District, crippling road access," he said from Bukittinggi, Antara, Wednesday, November 16. There were no casualties from this incident, but transportation routes from Bukittinggi City to West Pasaman, Lubuk Basung and Tiku surrounding areas were hampered. "This tree fell due to high rainfall, which is still happening, the team is evacuating by cutting trees and clearing roads," he said. Kelok 44 is dozens of bends located in a hilly area above Lake Maninjau which is circled by a road that bends over its slopes. This route connects many areas including Bukittinggi, Maninjau, Lubuk Basung, Tiku to West Pasaman and Pariaman.
