SUMBAR - The case of a TNI member hitting a resident of Palembang City to death was handled by the Palembang Police Traffic Unit together with the Navy Military Police, aka POM AL.

The Head of the Palembang Police, Kombes Pol. Mokhamad Ngajib, ensured that the entire series of deadly collisions would be processed according to legal procedures by the Satlantas and POM AL.

"The perpetrator has been secured by POM AL for further processing (disciplinary and legal processes) for the events he has experienced since yesterday (Tuesday 15 November 2022)," he said when confirmed in Palembang, Wednesday, November 16.

Based on the information gathered, the perpetrator is a member of the Women's Navy Corps (KOWAL) with the initials US (27), a resident of Bagus Kuning Village, Plaju District, Palembang.

The collision occurred when the US perpetrator allegedly lost control of the black Pajero Sport car he was driving while crossing Jalan RE Martadinata.

According to the investigation by the Palembang Polrestabes Satlantas, the US perpetrator should have stepped on the car brake with police number BG-1068-IN. However, it was stepped on by the gas pedal when avoiding a motorcycle that suddenly passed in front of his car.

From there it caused the speed of the vehicle to get out of control and hit a fried food cart and tire patch stall on the left side of the shoulder of Jalan RE Martadinata on Tuesday, November 15, at around 14.00 WIB.

The police confirmed that the US perpetrator at the time of the incident was conscious and healthy.

As for this incident, a female fried food trader with the initials M (45), a resident of Kelurahan 2 Ilir, Palembang, was declared dead at the scene after his body was hit by a speeding car.

The victim M, who is known to be a housewife with three children, was buried by the family at the Kandang Kawat TPU, this Tuesday afternoon. After previously being evacuated by the police to Mohammad Hoesin Hospital.

Then the car that continued to drive also hit a man who was a tire repairman with the initials PMK (38), a resident of Kelurahan 2 Ilir, Palembang, until he suffered a fracture and injuries to his body.

PMK victims are currently undergoing intensive care at the Palembang Port Hospital and are accompanied by the family.
