6 FPI Special Admiral Killed, PDIP Politician Arteria: If Rizieq Shihab Were Cooperative, There Would Be No Such Incident

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III DPR RI from the PDIP faction, Arteria Dahlan asked the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab to be cooperative in facing investigations into cases of suspected health protocol violations.

According to Arteria, if Rizieq was present in two summons while he was still a previous witness, then there was no incident of the death of the special FPI army guarding Rizieq Shihab.

"If Rizieq Shihab is cooperative, I am sure that there will be no incident at kilometer 50 (the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road) that causes the loss of six of his bodyguards," said Arteria in her statement, Friday, December 11.

Arteria warned not to let Rizieq Shihab consider himself immune to the law in the next summons, which will be Monday, December 14 at Polda Metro Jaya.

"Do not let him place himself above the state or state power," he said.

Furthermore, Arteria said that the police's steps to determine Rizieq Shihab as a suspect and to make forced arrests were normal. He asked the public to give the police the opportunity to work on investigating cases.

"Bang Fadil (Kapolda Metro Jaya) certainly understands very well about the field. (Investigation) This can be justified and of course accompanied by sufficient preliminary information and evidence," he added.

It is known that Rizieq was named a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya along with five other people. This determination was made after the police had conducted a case title.

"There are 6 who have been named as suspects. First the organizer is the brother of MRS (Rizieq Shihab)," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, December 10.

The other five suspects are the Chairperson of the Marriage Contract Committee with the initials HU, the Secretary of the Marriage Contract Committee with the initials A, the Person in Charge of the Security Sector with the initials MS, the Person in Charge for the Marriage Ceremony with the initials SL, and the Head of the Marriage Agreement Program Section with the initials HI.

"These six people we have upgraded from witnesses to suspects," said Yusri.

In this case the investigator applied a different article to the suspects. Especially for Rizieq Shihab, the police used Articles 160 and 216 of the Criminal Code.

"The first is that as the organizer, MRS's own brother is presumed in Articles 160 and 216 (KUHP)," he said.

Article 160 of the Criminal Code contains incitement to committing violence and not complying with the provisions of the law, with the threat of six years in prison or a fine of Rp. 4,500.

Meanwhile, Article 216 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning Obstacles to Legal Provisions. The threat is imprisonment of four months and two weeks or a fine of Rp9,000.

Meanwhile, other suspects were only charged under Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine. Under this regulation they are threatened with one year imprisonment or a Rp100 million fine.
