The Papuan Police claimed that the situation and security in Dogiyai Regency, Central Papua, gradually became conducive after the riots and arson that occurred on Saturday, November 12.

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said the situation could be controlled by security forces in Dogiyai Regency, Papua since Sunday, November 13, morning.

Currently, the police are still conducting foot patrols and recording damage to a number of buildings due to the riots.

"From the monitoring of the joint apparatus conducting patrols, there were six government buildings on Jalan Trans Nabire-Enarotali in the direction of Kampung Ekimanida that were burned," he said when contacted, Sunday, November 13.

The six buildings that were burned by the masses were the BPKAD Office, the Education Office, the Finance Office, the Inspectorate Office, the Environment Office and the Dukcapil Office.

According to Kombes Kamal, the material losses and fatalities of this incident cannot be ascertained.

The reason is, based on the information received, there is still a resident whose whereabouts are not yet known and a mother and her two children are also not known.

"We are still waiting for a really conducive situation to immediately collect data on material losses and casualties as well as injuries in this incident, as well as processing the crime scene by the Doiyai Police Satreskrim," he said.

Previously, Dogyai Police Chief Kompol Samuel Tatiratu stated that currently two Brimob platoons had been sent to Dogiyai, Central Papua to help strengthen security after the riots.
