West Bangka Police Have Tightened Supervision At Tanjungkalian Port To Prevent The Entry Of Illegal Goods

The West Bangka Resort Police inspected the luggage of a fleet of goods transport that crossed the Tanjungkalian Mentok/ANTARA Port area.

West Bangka Police, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has tightened supervision in and out of goods transport vehicles at Tanjungkalian Mentok Port to prevent the possibility of the circulation of illegal goods. "We hope that the tightening of supervision carried out by this joint team can anticipate the possibility of the entry of various types of illegal goods and other prohibited goods through the port," said Head of the West Bangka Police Polair Unit Iptu Sugiyanto in Mentok, Antara, Thursday, October 10. According to him, the port of Tanjungkalian Mentok is the main gateway for the sea crossing that connects Bangka Island with Sumatra. "This route is quite congested and used for the distribution of goods, both from Sumatra to Bangka and vice versa, so we need to be present to supervise and inspect every vehicle entering and leaving," he said. He explained that Satpolair personnel together with West Bangka Police personnel and Tanjungkalian Port officers continued to carry out careful inspection of every vehicle that entered the port area. All vehicles entering the port area are inspected for luggage and cargo, lest items without permits enter the Bangka Island area, including dangerous goods, drugs and others. In addition, officers also check the documents of luggage, letters and completeness of vehicles and drivers. "So far, it is still under control, we also urge the public to be proactive in providing information if they find allegations that lead to violations or crimes, so that they immediately contact the Satpolair or West Bangka Police personnel," he said. With the presence of personnel in the community, it is hoped that the Tanjungkalian Mentok Port area will be more conducive, safe and orderly so that people can carry out their activities comfortably. "If an alleged violation or crime is found in the Tanjungkalian area, immediately convey it to us so that it can be followed up quickly," he said.
