JAKARTA - The government has transferred analog television broadcasts to digital television on November 2, 2022, as ordered by the Job Creation Act.

Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI, Abdul Kharis Al Masyari, explained that although in some areas there had been a transition, he still found some technical problems in the field.

"I understand that all of Indonesia must have been ASO but there are technical obstacles that must be resolved by Kominfo, especially with regard to channels that have changed from analog to digital. So it does take time for all switch off," he said at the ASO socialization event and the ceremony for handing over STB Kominfo assistance with Commission I DPR RI which was held by GreatEdu virtually, Wednesday, November 9.

Meanwhile, the Director of Media Management of the Directorate General of IKP of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Nursodik Gunarjo, said that the shift in broadcasting from analog to digital must be able to produce more quality broadcast content.

"That in the future, our digital TV broadcast will not just switch from analog TV broadcasts to Digital TV broadcasts, but there will be changes in terms of content to educate the public more, produce extraordinary content and become a means to improve the character of our nation," he said.

On the same occasion, another resource person, Irwan Firman, said that character education can still be packaged in the form of contemporary content.

"Why can we still make films making soap operas but films and soap operas that are high class, there are still values offered. It's not just a crying scene, husband and wife are slapped, children who cry in front of their friends, this is not the (watch content) that is needed by the nation today," he said.
