JAKARTA - The leadership of the DPR RI has warned Commission III of the DPR not to rush to ratify the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP). He explained that the five articles that were deleted were articles on fraudulent advocates, articles on the practice of doctors or dentists, articles on landing, articles on poultry and livestock, as well as articles on forestry and environmental crimes. Meanwhile, the articles in the Criminal Code Bill are reformulated, including the addition of the word "trust" in articles governing "religion", then changing the phrase "legitimate government" to "government", and changing the explanation of Article 278 regarding the violation of the dignity of the president and vice president. Eddy also said that there was an additional article and a new paragraph related to the affirmation of several criminal acts in the Criminal Code Bill as a criminal act of sexual violence. "This is an effort to harmonize because we already have a Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS Law)," he said. Then finally, the crime of money laundering was reposed from three articles to two articles without any substance change. Eddy said that the latest draft of the Criminal Code Bill was public input from the results of public dialogue held in 11 cities in a hybrid manner as directed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. "We have dialogue in 11 cities starting from Medan on September 20, the last one is in Sorong on October 5," he said.
