This was said by the Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Ali while attending the NasDem 11th Anniversary series at the JCC, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, November 10. "The tradition of determining presidential candidates from the start is nothing new for the NasDem party, we started when we nominated the engineer Joko Widodo as a 2014 presidential candidate who was not who at that time," said Ali. It is known, currently the NasDem Party is the only political party that has declared a presidential candidate in 2024 earlier by carrying the former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. Ali said that the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh also did not arbitrarily determine the presidential candidate. According to him, Paloh had sharp political intuition when choosing someone. In fact, at that time Surya dared to announce Jokowi as a presidential candidate who at that time was no one. "On the basis of careful consideration, the political intuition possessed by our general chairman, the political instincts of our general chairman who has been eating salt in politics for so long, he can kiss God willing, Mr. Jokowi who was not who at that time," he said. For Paloh's belief at that time, continued Ali, Jokowi could now become an outstanding President of the Republic of Indonesia. Where when a wave of crisis so devastating threatens the world, said Ali, the Indonesian economy can still grow under the leadership of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
