Subsidized Food In DKI Ended December, PKS Asked The Governor Heru To Prepare A Replacement Program

Member of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Suhud Alynudin, admitted that he received information that the subsidized food program in the capital city would end soon based on a notification letter from the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (DKPKP).

This was conveyed by Suhud in the plenary meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which was also attended by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

"There is one thing I want to convey regarding the letter issued by the Food Security Service on October 31 regarding the termination of the subsidized food program for DKI Jakarta residents which will take effect on December 5," said Suhud, Tuesday, November 8.

Suhud revealed that this program is actually quite helpful for the community in the midst of economic conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The target of subsidized food recipients is quite a number, namely more than one million recipients.

On that basis, Suhud asked Heru Budi Hartono to hold a similar program as a substitute for subsidized food that will be stopped by the DKI Provincial Government.

"We hope that if the program is deemed ineffective or ineffective, please create a replacement program so that the underprivileged in DKI Jakarta will not cut off access to cheap food programs," said Suhud.

"I hope that the program will soon exist after the removal or termination of the subsidy program," he continued.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has held a subsidized low-cost food program that has been taking place since January 2022 targeting low-income people.

"The target is children with Smart Jakarta Cards, Jakarta Elderly Cards, people with disabilities, residents of flats, honorary teachers, then PJLP with a UMP of Rp. 1.1 million," said Head of DKI Jakarta DKPKP, Suharini Eliawati some time ago.

There are 22 thousand honorary teachers who are targeted by the subsidized cheap food program, then there are also 14 thousand PPK cadres, and 14 thousand people with disabilities.

With the subsidy program, residents paid Rp126 thousand to buy one kilogram of beef, 0.9 kilograms of chicken, 15 eggs, 1 kilogram of bloating fish, 5 kilograms of rice, and UHT milk.
