President Director of PAM Jaya Arief Nasrudin said that his party plans to recruit youth members as contract workers with certain Watu work agreements (PKWT) in charge of distributing clean water.
This, said Arief, will be applied to areas that have not been reached by pipeline services by PAM Jaya. Thus, these youth organizations will later distribute clean water from water kiosks to be delivered to residents' homes.
"We want to use sub-district points or community points that we can rent directly and we will synergize with youth organizations," said Arief when met in the North Jakarta area, Tuesday, November 8.
In distributing clean water, PAM Jaya will procure motorcycle carts to deliver water purchased by residents. According to him, this is more effective than distributing water through carts that are driven using human force.
This plan, continued Arief, will be discussed again by the mayors regarding the recruitment of youth youth members to the placement of water kiosk services.
"Similarly, the model will be a little different. We do not use business treatment, but an approach from recruiting or employing youth youth friends who do have time to move to help the community and we treat them like we treat PKWT," he said.
Arief said that recruitment with the PKWT model to serve the distribution of clean water was carried out to avoid a surge in clean water rates that were delivered using carts with human resources.
This is because PAM Jaya has set the tariff paid by residents to buy clean water from water kiosks, which is IDR 400 per 20 liters to residents who collect water at the water kiosk location or IDR 1,200 per 20 liters for residents who buy water that is delivered to their homes.
Then, PAM Jaya also plans to recruit residents who have been working as perpetrators of water distribution using carts to avoid social conflicts over the recruitment of PKWT.
"The next method we try to tidy up. It could be that the energy is taken from the existing ones. We try not to get friction in the community. But, the most important thing is that the distribution of water must be even and the price remains. So, there is no issue about the price of water arriving to be Rp. 5,000. That's what's important," he added.
