SORONG - The Sorong Basarnas Team, West Papua Province managed to save the fishing boat KM Inka Mina which was adrift due to engine failure in the Raja Ampat sea, Sunday, November 6. Head of the Sorong Class A Search and Rescue Office, Amiruddin, said that after receiving the report of the incident, his party immediately rushed to the location of the Tanjung Mokoi water incident in Raja Ampat district. In order to evacuate fishing boats, Basarnas dispatched the search ship KN SAR Baladewa with a rescue team. When they arrived at the location, the team found 10 crew members of KM Inka Mina who were in good condition. "Then the team helped draw the fishing boat to a safe place or a nearby island so it wouldn't be swayed by currents," he explained in Sorong, Antara, Sunday night. The team immediately evacuated seven crew members to Sorong. Meanwhile, three crew members remained on the ship to guard the ship until there was assistance to repair the ship's engine. "We found KM Inka Mina floating and all the crew members were safe and healthy. Our team immediately evacuated the crew to the KN SAR Baladewa and then the fishing boat was pulled for safekeeping on the island of the rifle," he added.
