Determination Of The Banten UMP Still Waiting For The 'Love Letter' From The Ministry Of Manpower

SERANG - The Banten Province Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) is still waiting for a circular (SE) letter from the Ministry of Manpower regarding the mechanism and determination of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and UMK 2023.

"The results of yesterday's dialogue with the Ministry of Manpower, we are just waiting for SE. The determination is a maximum of November 21, right," said Head of the Banten Manpower and Transmigration Office, Septo Kalnadi, Friday, November 4.

Recently, the Ministry of Manpower absorpted aspirations related to the determination of the minimum wage for 2023. The aspiration was netted by the Ministry of Manpower by inviting a number of provincial wage councils and district/city wage councils.

For the provincial level, he said, apart from Banten, the Ministry of Manpower also invited DKI Jakarta and West Java, while for districts/cities, the wage council invited to participate in the discussion came from the Jabodetabek area.

"These invited areas are kind of sampling," he said.

The results of the dialogue, he said, included an estimated increase in the 2023 minimum wage between 3-5 percent of the 2022 minimum wage.

However, he said, for certainty, the Ministry of Manpower is still waiting for the latest data regarding inflation rates and the pace of economic growth from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

"The information is that BPS will send the data to the Ministry of Manpower on November 7," said Septo.

After that, he continued, the Ministry of Manpower will carry out calculations to then set an upper limit increase and lower limit for the 2023 minimum wage and pour it into the Ministry of Manpower's SE which is expected to be published on November 10 or three days after they receive BPS data.

Thus, said Septo, the new provincial wage council will hold plenary meetings to determine the minimum wage for 2023 around 12 and 13 November.
