One Palu Resident Dies While Waiting For His Turn To Vote At TPS

PALU - A Palu resident, Musdin Dg Sila (70O) died while waiting for his turn to vote for the Pilkada at TPS 08, Jalan Merpati, Palu, Central Sulawesi.

Palu Police Chief AKBP Riza Faisal said the victim was a resident of Jalan Merpati, aisle one, Tanamonindi Village, Mantikolores District, Palu City. From the witness's testimony with the initials S (48), it was found that the victim at around 07.30 WITA, fell on his face, then fainted and was pronounced dead.

“The witness saw the victim washing their hands and having their temperature checked by the KPPS officer, according to health protocols before entering the TPS area. Then the victim sat in the queue seat according to the direction of the KPPS officer, after a while the victim sat in the queue suddenly the victim fell and fainted and was declared dead, so the victim was lifted into the house of one of the local residents, "said Riza as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 9th.

Meanwhile, another witness, R (31), a member of the KPPS, invited the victim to wash his hands. After that the victim is checked for body temperature and normal body temperature.

"Then the witness invited the victim to enter the TPS area and wait in the queue. A few moments after the victim sat down to wait, the victim suddenly fell and was unconscious and declared dead," said Riza.

Faisal said witness Aspia (68), who was the victim's wife, explained that the victim left the house alone on foot at around 07.00 WITA to vote at TPS 08 Jalan Merpati in good health.

However, said Faisal, at around 08.00 WITA, Aspia was told by his son-in-law with the initials Y, that his father-in-law fell while waiting in line to vote and died.

"Against the victim, there were no signs of violence or injury, so the family concluded that the victim died not because of a criminal act, and the family refused to carry out an autopsy on the victim and write a statement rejecting the autopsy," he said.

The COVID-19 Puskesmas Kawatuna Task Force Team has also been contacted and is just waiting for the results of the examination.

"According to the results of our coordination with doctors and the COVID-19 Task Force, so for the time being there are no symptoms of COVID-19," he said.
