Meeting The Russian Grand Mufti, TGB Zainul Majdi Calls Russian Muslims Want To Learn Harmony In Indonesia

Member of the Executive Committee of the Muslim Muslim Council (MHM) from Indonesia, Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) Zainul Majdi, said that Russian Muslims want to learn about harmony in Indonesia. TGB made this statement when meeting the Russian Grand Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin on the sidelines of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum session in Manama, Bahrain, which was held from 3 to 4 November 2022. "Russia Mufti Grand, Talgat Tadzhuddin, said that he wanted to learn a lot from Indonesia, especially in harmony between religious communities in daily life," he said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, November 4. To TGB, Russia's Grand Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin said that Muslims in Russia are the second largest religious population after Christian Orthodox. Currently, the work of Russian Muslims is also getting wider. TGB together with the Russian Mufti discussed Muslims in their respective countries. "They want to learn a lot from Indonesian Muslims, especially in building social harmony," he said. The Muslim Muslim Council (MHM) chaired by Imam Akbar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Sheikh Al-Azhar, is an international independent body founded in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2014. This assembly consists of a number of scholars, wise people, and experts from Muslims from various parts of the world who have independent and moderate characters. The Hukama Council was established with the aim of contributing to creating a peaceful life in the midst of Muslim society and between Muslims and adherents of other religions in the world community. Apart from TGB Zainul Majdi, Prof Quraish Shihab also became Indonesia's representative in this session. Also attending the forum was the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, and 200 other religious figures around the world. In the 16th session of the Hukama Council, this will discuss issues of Muslim society in western countries, as well as the humanitarian crisis that has occurred in various parts of the world and its challenges.
