Deepening Revenge In Vindra, The Liquid Chemical Terrorist

JAKARTA - For more than a week, the mystery of the terror act of sprinkling chemical liquids in the western region of Jakarta has finally been solved. Witness examination to tracing the CCTV footage at the scene of the incident became the way to Vindra Yuniko (29), the suspect in the case.

In less than two weeks, terrorist acts have been carried out three times. Nine people have been victims. Eight of them are students. Meanwhile another is a vegetable trader.

In the first action, Tuesday, November 5, two junior high school (SMP) students, A and P became victims of the chemical splash. Their hands and shoulders were blistered as a result of the incident which took place at Jalan Kebon Jeruk Raya, West Jakarta.

Then, three days later, it was the vegetable trader, Sakina (60), who had to endure the pain of being splashed with the chemical. Her scalp and neck were blistered. The old woman was attacked on her way home in the North Meruya area, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

Furthermore, last Friday, the terror act again claimed victims among students. Six students of SMP Negeri 207 Kembangan, West Jakarta, were the targets of the chemical sprinkling. They were attacked while walking after school.

Based on these three cases, Vindra was arrested and examined. Confession quite astonishing came out of his mouth. Because, the action was carried out with the aim that other people could feel the pain they were experiencing.

The physical condition of the 29-year-old man is not fully functional. His back and eyes were injured. Vindra suffered from this condition while working as an AC service employee. At that time, while working, Vindra fell from the 3rd floor of one of the buildings. However, the police did not just believe it. The deepening of the motives continues.

Meanwhile, regarding the pattern of attacks, the police said the attacks were carried out randomly without any planning, let alone a target. In addition, in each action, the location where the hard water sprinkles is also the route from the residence to the place of work.

"So there are no special characteristics of the victims but randomly carried out by the victims," said the 2nd Panit of the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of the Directorate General of Criminal and Criminal Affairs of the Metro Jaya Police, AKP Adhi Wananda in Jakarta, Saturday, November 16.

"This suspect worked in the Meruya area, then lived in Ciledug. So it is along (with the route) work and home," added Adhi.

In addition to that, regarding the chemical liquid used by Vindra in every act of terror, the Head of Kimbiofor of the Indonesian Police, Kombes Pol Andi Firdaus, said that the liquid was a solution of lye. This was discovered based on the examination of evidence or liquid in the three locations of the incident.

In fact, with this evidence it can also be ascertained or corroborate the allegation that the sprinklers in the three cases were the same person. "The ingredients are identical between TKP 1, 2, and 3, namely lye. The chemical language is sodium hydroxide," said Andi.

However, the lye is said to be non-lethal even though it is very dangerous. Injuries caused by these chemicals will irritate the skin of the victims. However, with medical treatment, the victim can be fully healed periodically.

"The effect is irritation. Reddens or causes an effect on the skin. The levels are not too high. So it will be healthy for yourself," said Andi.

Psychological side

Admittedly, Vindra's acts of terror were purely criminal acts. It's just that, on the other hand, there is an element of revenge in that case. Because, the man wants other people to feel the witness he feels. So, there are allegations that Vindra has psychological problems.

Forensic psychologist, Kasandra Putranto, confirmed that there was a problem in the suspect. From the results of the conversation with Vindra, it is said that his figure had a history of violence as a child. Which later, was exacerbated by the lack of attention from his parents.

This creates a feeling in Vindra who prefers to pass on his frustrations or problems to others. "Limitations of education and positive experiences with limited communication skills, interpersonal relationships and minimal empathy. He wants to vent his frustration on others," said Kasandra.

In addition, external factors are also referred to as a push. Because, Vindra is a figure who is very, very dependent on several negative things. "There are also indications of addiction to games, liquor and cigarettes," he said.

In fact, it was said, the watering act was the aftermath of a sense of resentment that had built up over the years. However, it is undeniable that Vindra is afraid of every action.

So, to get around his fear, Vindra only chooses potential victims who are considered weak and cannot fight back. "The target is women because they choose victims who are inferior to themselves, believing that they will not fight back," said Kasandra.

Not in prison

With the discovery of various psychological problems in Vindra, prison or detention is not the right place to treat it. In that case, an approach with the interaction method of biology, psychology and social factors is the right step to treat it.

So, holding him in prison is considered to be difficult to cure the suspect's psychological illness.

"The biopsychosocial approach, physical care to reduce pain, psychological intervention and social rehabilitation. It will likely be heavy (the healing process)," said Kasandra.

Even so, there is no other way to cure the psychological illness suffered by the suspect, except first waiting for his detention period to be completed. Because it is said, Indonesia does not yet have a policy related to a psychological treatment system for criminals.

"Because Indonesia does not have that policy. Our legal system has limited intervening service facilities for social religious medicals," concluded Kasandra.
