Having No Special Budget For Natural Disaster Management, The NTT PUPR Service Remains Prepared For Disaster Anticipation During The Rainy Season

The Public Works and Public Housing Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province has begun to be on standby to anticipate natural disasters during the rainy season.

"We are certainly always on standby in anticipation of natural disasters that occur during the rainy season," said Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Province Public Works and Public Housing (DPUPR), Max Nenabu, as reported by Antara, Sunday, October 23.

Max Nenabu said this was related to the anticipation of the PUPR Service in dealing with natural disasters that occurred during the rainy season in NTT.

He explained that the NTT Provincial PUPR Service always acts when a natural disaster occurs by coordinating with related parties because there is no special allocation of funds for handling natural disasters managed by the PUPR Service.

"We do not have a special budget for handling natural disasters like other agencies have," said Max Nenabu.

He said that in urgent conditions when a natural disaster occurs, the NTT PUPR Service always seeks help to be able to deal with disasters that must be handled by the NTT PUPR Service.

"We have tried to encourage special handling funds for natural disasters handled by PUPR both from the NTT APBD I but until now there has not been any," said Max Nenabu.

However, the NTT PUPR Service is certainly always prepared for disasters during the rainy season by coordinating with the PUPR Office in districts/cities in the event of a natural disaster in the regions.
